IPAA Updates (March 2014)

Students visited TAMU Geoscience and Engineering Department. Junior externship interviews Students volunteered at Houston Food Bank. National Engineers Week Guest Speaker- Jeff Lund Astra Zeno honored as IPAA teacher of the Year Finalist. Dariel D. honored at HISD board meeting as a member of Team USA for the 2014 International PetroChallenge. Young Women's College Preparatory Academy, Engineering & Geosciences Academy (YWEGA) By Paige M, Grade 11 "Viva Technology opened the world of business as it relates to engineering for me and also taught me the step by step process of marketing a product." - Asha J. SECME Essay/Mousetrap Car Competition

On Saturday, March 4, 2017, YWCPA SECME students competed in the Houston Regional SECME Essay and Mousetrap Car competition. We swept the high school essay contest! We also had 1st and 2nd place mousetrap car winners. Our 1st place mousetrap car team, The Munchkins, will go on to represent YWCPA at the SECME National Competition at the University of Alabama this summer.
